Prior to the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Slovenia, GEN-I established a special team that is carefully monitoring the spread of the virus at both the national and global levels. With the aim of ensuring an uninterrupted and smooth business process, that team continuously adopts measures relating to the organization of employees’ work and transactions with customers, business partners and users.
Employees are one of the Company’s priorities. Its practices in connection with the management and development of people put GEN-I on the map of contemporary, innovative and agile companies. On March 13, 2020, 95% of employees were instructed to work from home. All employees were provided the necessary technical equipment for unimpeded work. An isolated environment was ensured at the Company’s head office and organizational units for employees unable to work smoothly from home due to the specific nature of their job and where the inability to perform their tasks could affect the business process.
Social responsibility, responsibility for the economy as a whole and, above all, solidarity were the reasons we cut electricity prices. GEN-I was the first electricity supplier in Slovenia to cut the electricity prices paid by its household and small business customers by 15% from March 1 to May 31, 2020. This further reduces electricity costs, which the Slovenian Government and Energy Agency have already cut through an intervention measure that waives the payment of the CHP and RES contribution, and tariff items for the capacity charge.
At the same time, a pricelist was developed with prices reduced by 15% for three months for new household customers as part of the Spring Stay at Home campaign and for new business customers as part of the 2020 Affordable Electricity for Entrepreneurs campaign.
Because solidarity knows no bounds, we also cut prices in Croatia by 15% for household customers under the standard pricelist, while we organized the Spring 2020 campaign for new customers, who will pay for their electricity according to reduced tariffs until the end of June 2020.
As part of the Spring 2020 Affordable Natural Gas campaign, prices under the standard pricelist will be reduced by 30% for existing and new natural gas customers for a period of three months.
The aim of the measures adopted by GEN-I is to maintain the trust of customers, which is the basis for the development of the best services and a range of high-quality and simple solutions. Investments in technology, and in employee development and training have enabled the Company to maintain its position as an affordable and reliable supplier of electricity and natural gas in Slovenia for eleven years in a row. Our base of loyal and satisfied customers is growing through a progressive and innovative management approach, making GEN-I one of the fastest growing players on the European energy market.
