Risk management

Centrally coordinated activities, the use of advanced tools and clearly defined tasks of individual departments enable us to respond in a timely manner to changes and to effectively manage risks at all levels of operation. Such a conservative business policy helps us establish a controlled environment and effectively cap all classes of operational, credit, market and regulatory risks. Such control enables us to maintain a healthy balance between risk and return.

Compliance with current and future regulatory requirements is centrally coordinated by the parent company in Ljubljana for all subsidiaries in the GEN-I Group. We focus on compliance of our operations as well as lean process strategies that enable efficient operations and rapid responses to legislative changes.

By implementing the processes of reporting to trade repositories and by reducing the risks inherent in derivatives trading we comply with the requirements of EMIR (European Market Infrastructure Regulation).  Compliance  with EMIR enabled us additional possibilities in trading with derivatives, which are used to hedge transactions with physical delivery.

Furthermore, a team of experts has drawn up processes of reporting and informing the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) for the purpose of compliance, in accordance with the Regulation on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency (REMIT).
